In order to check out a tool, an employee must either enter a specific code or swipe an ID card, which links that employee to the item

Our software records which employee takes out what item, how long it’s been in use, and when it was returned

If an item goes missing or is checked out for an extended period of time, our software reports what is missing, how long it has been out, and who is responsible
